The Patriots' Hall of Dripping Springs is a 10-acre permanent retreat and resource base for ALL veterans and their families to connect and find support. This organization unites veterans of all ages and military branches through therapeutic workshops, off-site field trips, networking opportunities, motivational presentations, family reunions, VA claims assistance, and their own wellness center. The board has already stated that it will not be one-of-a-kind, considering that Dripping Springs is only 20 miles from Austin. Unfortunately, over the past two decades, the number of members of local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion positions has decreased significantly.
To fill this gap and attract younger veterans, the Patriots' Hall of Dripping Springs plan was put in place. Every day, veterans return home and face financial difficulties, family transitions, and emotional and physical challenges due to their time in the military. The event is organized by the Camaraderie Foundation, a group dedicated to providing counseling to military and veterans at no cost. Veterans of recent wars face financial problems, family changes, and physical and emotional difficulties stemming from military service. To help address these issues, the Patriots' Hall of Dripping Springs offers a special camp for Vietnam veterans, a camp for women veterans, and a camp for all veterans and their families. You can also book a stay directly at the Veterans Camp in Big Marine Lake, which veterans and military families can access year-round at an affordable price.
The mission of House in the Woods is to provide lifesaving healing to active service members, veterans and their families through free therapeutic retreats and bereavements. Kathryn Chandler, a Dripping Springs resident and daughter of a Vietnam veteran, saw the steering wheel that Barnett and Hale hung in the city.
