The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) was founded in 1899 by war veterans to assist a sick and needy veteran of the Spanish-American War. Continuing in that tradition of service to our veterans who have sacrificed so much for us, the Texas VFW Foundation offers a variety of grants and scholarships to honorably discharged Texas veterans and their families, un-remarried widows or minor orphans of, including those still serving in uniform, regardless of when or where they served.
